When we have out of town guests we can house them in pirvacy in our well appointed guest rooms. Members
pay only a fraction of what a comparable hotel room would cost. No airport tax or any other.
We can take our grandchildren to the adjacent Applewood Park, just a few steps from our beautiful courtyard,
and let them burn off some energy. Or we can shoot a few hoops in the basketball court. A few steps to the
south of our building is the Applewood Overlook park with pond and wildlife.
Our gardening club grow lots of vegetables which they share with those of us who are not ambitious
enought to grow our own.
We can practice our short game on our putting green in the middle of our beautiful courtyard.
We love to sit by the fire and visit with friends or guests and hear the Grandfather's clock chime the hour.
Our bright solarium is a favorite of our members who love to pick up their mail and sit and read it in this
room with a view of the pond and wildlife.
Fully equipped kitchen with two cooking ranges, two dishwashers, refrigerator, microwave and complete
set of dishes for large events. We have a number of food events and our members can reserve the kitchen
and great room for private aarties.
The lovely dining room can be reserved by our members for private family dinners.
Our Great Room is the is the center of our social activities. Members can reserve the room for private parties.
Many of our metngs are held in the Great Room
When our members host a private party, we have dozens of guest parking spots avalable right in front of our building.
When our members get in their cars to go shopping, out to eat, go to church or any other destination,
they get in their warm cars and take off without scraping ice off the windshild!
Remember washing your car in the driveway, when the soap dried on as fast as you applied it?
Our members have this bright lighted car wash. In the winter time, we can get the"gunk"washed
off of our cars before they rust from the street salt.
If you have viewed our activities page, you will note we have a number of catered dinners and other social events
with great food. We have a great facility to work off those calories!
Many of our members do wood working in our well equipped hobby room. Here, one of
our memberrs is building a set of shelves.
Our large screen TV in the great room is connected to the internet. Our members can enjoy movies,
documentaries, and television shows.

The library computer is hooked to hi speed internet. WiFi is also available for our members and guests with
laptops or tablets that want to use the library to access the internet.
Our library is stocked with great novels, biographies, historic publications, VCR cassettes and DVDs. Members can
borrow media or sit down and enjoy a time of reading by the fireplace.
Our Craft Room is a great place for our members to exercise their creativity with needle arts or some other craft. This group is made up of Applewood Members and others from the area that get together and, among other things, knit caps for needy persons. They have given away over a thousand caps to Metro schools, Karen refuges and an orphanage in Tanzania.
Many of us remember skipping school and playing pool at the local poolroom when we
were kids. Professor Harold Hill from the movie and play "The Music Man" warned that
we have "pool right here in River City"! Well, we have "Pool right here at Applewood",
Professor, and we enjoy it!
Members enjoy our game room with card tables, large TV, Wii games, billiards and a fireplace.
